From a concrete fountain situated in the centre of the courtyard water flows in the direction of the Reuss. From here the water starts on a long journey that ends in the North Atlantic. Many travellers who rest here will follow this watercourse northwards.

All life depends on water. The fountain reminds us of this.

Jörg Zumstein was a strong advocate for a chapel by the motorway in the canton of Uri. The fountain, a life-affirming symbol, was donated by his family in his memory.
